Hey, its been pretty interesting following the development of this work. But I'm curious, what exactly is the meaning of "Painting as Architecture"?
Hi Greg,
Always nice to find out people are looking at my blog. Painting as Arichitecture is a workshop I am taking this semester as part of my Bachelor of Architecture. The project is to express our architectural meaning through the medium of paint, instead of the traditional architectural tools of drawing, models and computers.
Le Corbusier painted, played basketball and did architecture everyday as a routine. There are certain things to be discovered and expressed by painting that are not found in other media.
And so, this painting is based off of one of my second year residential project; the intersection house.
Thats pretty neat. The more I look at the initial collage, the more impressed I am. Quite honestly, I think the collage itself stands alone as a quality piece of art with the overlaying of drawn figures on the black and white photography.
The product itself is very interesting as well. I have been having fun looking at the collage and trying to determine which parts of it you are emphasizing in the painting. It makes me wish I had done more art in school when I could, for tis too late now.
